Alejandro Gutman is the Founder of Lag Medical Inc. and brings over 40 years of experience in the optical, optometry, and ophthalmology industries.

In 1999, he founded MercoFrames, a company he successfully led for 25 years as CEO and President until its sale in 2024. During this time, he built strong commercial relationships across the United States, Central America, the Caribbean, and Latin America, working closely with clients, manufacturers, suppliers, and industry professionals.

His expertise includes eyewear line development, representation of optical and ophthalmic equipment, sales team leadership, after-sales service, as well as import, distribution, and overall business operations management.

Alejandro is also an attorney and a licensed optician/contact lens specialist, a unique combination that allows him to bring both technical knowledge and strategic business insight to the industry.

After a brief semi-retired period, Alejandro is now leading a new chapter with Lag Medical Inc., focused on delivering reliable solutions, quality products, and long-term partnerships built on experience, integrity, and trust.
